Honor Roll Sundae Celebration
Ice Cream Sundae Treats For Honor Students
Washington High School Principal Matt Mols and Junior HIgh Principal Lou Magnotta, along with guidance counselors and a few teachers, chaperoned an ice cream social for those in 9th-12th first, followed by a separate one for the 7-8th grades on February 9 in the jr/sr high cafeteria. Attendees were those who made the honor roll in either the first and/or second marking period of the current school year.
The cafeteria ladies were ready with vanilla ice cream along with a variety of toppings for the sundaes, including caramel, chocolate syrup, sprinkles, whipped cream, and fresh fruit toppings.
According to Mr. Mols, 192 high school students were eligible to attend and Mr. Magnotta said that 122 junior high students qualified. Guidance counselors Jessica Branagan and Sadie Sabo explained that honor roll was a grade point average of 3.2 and up, and high honors was 3.8 and up.
Clearly from the excitement in the cafeteria, the sundae treat was a great way to thank and encourage the students for doing their best to make the good grades needed for the honor roll.
